This is my brother carrying a baby calf when we were gathering my USFS permit on the Sierra Nevada mountains of California. It snowed just the next day, so we did get the baby out before winter hit.

Diane Bohna - Cattle Rancher/Photographer I list my name as such because my first love in life is taking care of my cattle and the land they run on. I am a 5th generation cattle rancher and I have always loved photography. So some 15ish years ago when I was leading the ranchers in a defense of continued use of the USFS I decided that if the general public could just understand this way of life of a cowboy somehow they would understand the sincerity of this path I have chosen. So I started packing my camera and photographing working cowboys just doin what they do. I have been blessed with many friends that live across the United States and abroad and so my travels have expanded outside of California, I must tell you the hat styles...
